Session One: It’s in the Joints ~ The Feet Are the Keys to the Hips
• The foundational role of joints in strength and flexibility.
• How the feet connect through fascial lines to influence knees, hips, shoulders, and neck.
• Practical mapping techniques to apply in daily practice.
• Breathwork and mudras that activate Vyana Vayu, the expansive life force.

12-3 pm and 4-7 pm

Session Two: Forward Bends, Back Bends & the Anti-Aging Effects of Muscle Work
• Explore the front and back fascial lines and their impact on low back health.
• Learn the deeper layers of the “Core”, including abdominals, psoas, and Madhya Sutra.
• Discover how side body support (Parsva Sutra) enhances stability.
• Integrate these elements to prevent and relieve pain, while improving posture and balance.

Session Three: Core Breath & Sacral Balance ~ The Root of Equilibrium
• Unlock the sacrum as the vital link between spine and pelvis.
• Explore how diaphragm, pelvic floor, and psoas integrate into a deeper core system.
• Practice breath-centered asana and gentle twists to awaken Samana Vayu, the harmonizing force of body and mind.

Sunday, September 28
9 am-12 pm and 1:30-4:30 pm 

Session Four: Keys to the Shoulders and the Power of Mudra
• Understand how shoulder joint play prevents pain and restores freedom of movement.
• Map the fascial connections between shoulders, arms, wrists, and neck.
• Learn simple, memorable principles to improve alignment and strength.
• Discover how mudra, breath, and focus deepen energy and presence.

Session Five: The Neck, Drishti & the Nadis ~ Breath, Vision & Meditation
• Learn to care for the neck and upper spine while cultivating inner stillness.
• Explore drishti (the yogic gaze) as a tool for regulating energy and attention.
• Experience how drishti, mudra, and bandha awaken the nadis, subtle channels linked to the nervous system and vagus nerve.
• Conclude with a full pranayama and meditation practice to integrate the weekend’s teachings into everyday life.

Doug Keller has been teaching workshops and trainings in the therapeutic applications of yoga for over thirty years, and is known not only for his effectiveness in communicating this ever-evolving approach in these workshops, but also for his extensive writing on the topic in magazines, journals, and his two-volume work on ‘Yoga As Therapy.

He is also, in addition to his traveling and teaching, a Distinguished Professor at the Maryland University of Integrative Health in their Master’s Degree program in Yoga Therapy. This program is state-approved and accredited for granting a Master’s degree in this field, and is fully accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
