Daniel Orlansky, E-RYT 500

Daniel has been a yoga teacher for since 1992. Certified in Jnana Yoga, Kali Ray TriYoga and Kundalini Yoga, he is the originator of Meridian Yoga. He holds a masters degree in Expressive Art Therapy/Dance Therapy from Lesley University, has been a visiting lecturer in movement studies at Tufts University, and teaches in many locations, including the Kripalu Center and the Omega Institute, where he has been Core Yoga Faculty for 12 years. He conducts workshops and 200 and 500-hour yoga teacher certifications in America and Europe.

Liz Owen, E-RYT 500

Liz Owen Healthy BackLiz has studied Iyengar, Vinyasa and classical Hatha yoga for over 25 years, and combines physical alignment, meditative movement, and the cultivation of a joyful heart to create an innovative and transformative class experience.  She was a certified Iyengar yoga teacher from 1995 – 2010, and on the faculty of the BKS Iyengar Yoga Center of Greater Boston from 1990 – 2003.  Currently Liz teaches classes and workshops at the Kripalu Center, Yoga Journal Conferences, and throughout New England; she is also on the faculty of Wellesley College. Sara began her study of yoga and meditation in 1992 and started teaching yoga in 1997. Her extensive asana training includes alignment-based flow, vinyasa, therapeutics, prenatal, and more. Chip Hartranft, E-RYT 200

Chip Hartranft’s work bridges the traditions of yoga and Buddhism. He is the founding director of The Arlington Center, uniting yoga and dharma practice, and has taught an integration of yoga movement & meditation in the Boston area since 1978. An independent scholar of early Indian Buddhism and yoga, Chip is the author of two books, The Yoga-Sutra of Patañjali: A New Translation with Commentary (Shambhala Publications), and the forthcoming How The Buddha Taught Meditation.

Carrie is a twenty plus year veteran of teaching movement. Owner and director of Rasamaya Movement Centers, with four locations in New England, she is known for her playful style of teaching and her strong knowledge of anatomy and alignment. She holds certificates in Pilates, Thai Bodywork, and Reiki and is also the Northeast Teacher Trainer for Pfilates (pelvic floor Pilates). She specializes in women’s body language, chronic structural pain and pelvic health in her private practice.

Doug received intensive training in the Iyengar system in New York City, practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in India, and became one of the first certified Anusara Yoga teachers worldwide. He has produced three highly respected books on asana, pranayama and yoga philosophy, and for three years he has been a regular columnist for Yoga+ Magazine, writing the ‘Asana Solutions’ column that addresses specific therapeutic problems.

Billie Jo Joy

Billie Jo Joy, R.Y.T., Ed.M. is co-founder and co-manager of Art & Soul, a studio in Cambridge, MA, dedicated to the contemplative and expressive arts. She is an Iyengar trained, Kripalu certified yoga teacher (500-hour level) with over 20 years of teaching experience. Her instruction is ornamented with yogic philosophy, experiential anatomy, and poetry. In addition Billie Jo is an accomplished theater and film artist. She has taught at Salem State College, Emerson College and The Boston Conservatory; students have called her an “exceptional and knowledgeable teacher.”

Josh teaches Yin Yoga trainings and workshops throughout the United States and Europe. He maintains a private acupuncture practice in Boston, Ma, and recently co-founded the metaMind Institute, a mindfulness-based strategy firm. Josh co-wrote “The Buddha’s Playbook: Strategies for Enlightened Living.“ Josh spent several years living abroad in India, Taiwan and Burma where he has studied both yoga and meditation. His yoga and meditation classes emphasize safe alignment, the cultivation of moment-to-moment awareness and the potential for freedom in the here and now.

Malaika Tabors, RYT 200

Malaika Tabors has studied various forms of yoga (Ashtanga, Anusara, Yin, Kundalini) since 1997, and has a lifelong history of movement practices. She has also been a dedicated Insight Meditation practitioner with her teacher Larry Rosenberg since 2005, including many periods of silent retreat. After an apprenticeship with her husband in Mindful Yoga (based on teachings he received in Madras, India from TKV Desikachar), in 2013 she became a certified Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra leader, and completed her RYT 200 training with Daniel Orlansky. Malaika is also a physical therapist, a craniosacral therapist, and an acupuncturist, with private practices in Cambridge and Newburyport.

Matthew Daniell has been practicing Buddhist meditation for over 25 years. He studied Zen in Japan, Tibetan Buddhism in India, and Insight Meditation in India, Burma, Thailand, and the United States. Matthew resides in West Newbury and is the primary and guiding teacher at Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport. He also teaches at various retreat centers including the Omega Institute, the Philadelphia Meditation Center, the Insight Meditation Society, Kripalu, and CIMC. He teaches Buddhism at the Tufts University Summer School and is a member of the Religious Services Department at Phillips Exeter Academy.
