Pranayama, Mudra, and Celestial Communications: Breathing and Dancing the Inner Body of Light
Saturday, June 9th, 1:30-4:00 pm, Laughing Dog Yoga, Wellesley, MA
Experience harmony, lightness, joy, and a radiant spirit with breathing exercises and inner energy practices drawn from classical and Kundalini Yoga. We will learn how to enhance and extend the breath with pranayama (breathing) exercises, and then channel the heightened pranic energy using mudras (ways to enhance mental focus which can include hand gestures) as well as bandhas (inner locks). We will then meditate and chant with a practice called Celestial Communications, where mantras are combined with movements and mudras in a seated creative dance, bringing relaxation to the entire nervous system.
All levels welcome; beginners and advanced students alike will receive helpful tips for effective home exercises. The “power of the breath” will help your life as nothing else.

Yoga of Energy Flow and The Power of Prana: Inner Fire, Outer Radiance ~ 12:00-3:00 pm
Integrating strength and flexibility training, energy cultivation, and open awareness, Yoga of Energy Flow is a unique and transformative yoga method. In this workshop we will draw from Kundalini Yoga, Meridian Yoga, and Kali Ray TriYoga to experience simple but powerful ways to increase and balance the flow of pranic energy through our body, mind, and spirit. We will work with pranayama, vinyasa, asana, and chanting meditation in a practice that opens and changes us. As tension melts, the mind/body blocks disappear, and the heart begins to sing; we “flow” and the life energy of Prana flows through us, connecting us to heaven and earth, sun and moon, and all of nature.
Meridian Yoga: Opening the Energetic Pathways ~ 3:30-6:15 pm
Open the pathways that allow prana to flow, bringing harmony, lightness and joy to our being. This workshop artfully blends ancient and modern techniques that activate and balance the body’s meridian pathways. Using gentle pressure, body weight, and skillful touch, we will work with a partner to increase our range of motion and perfect our alignment in yoga asanas associated with the fourteen internal organs. A modern stretching technique called resistance/PNF stretching will be taught, along with some Thai and shiatsu massage. Feel free to come by yourself, or with a friend.
